With one week in the books at our beloved State Capitol, The Iowa Standard wanted to highlight some of the “interesting” bills that were filed during Week 1. Among them, Senate Study Bill 3037 sponsored by State Sen. Jason Schultz as chair of the Commerce Committee.

The bill prohibits an insurance carrier or a plan for group insurance for public employees from providing financial or other incentives to a participating provider based upon attaining a certain vaccine administration rate or from imposing a financial or other penalty on a participating provider who does not attain a certain vaccine administration rate.

The bill was referred to the Senate Commerce Committee.

The Iowa Nurses Association is registered as “undecided” on the bill.
