The Dickinson County GOP is hosting a special fundraiser on Oct. 17. Sidney Powell will be speaking at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Okoboji. The event will go from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased here.

“Our sales have been nice so far,” said Dickinson County GOP co-chair Barbara Clayton. “I’ve gotten a lot of excitement from people. If people don’t know who Sidney Powell is by sight, they know her by name. And they’re well aware of what General Michael Flynn has gone through as far as his case. I’m expecting Sidney to draw a nice crowd.”

Powell is expected to discuss the corruption embedded within the justice department and the people she’s dealt with in the past.

“This isn’t the first time she’s come up against James Comey and John Brennan,” Clayton said. “She’ll talk about those cases, she’ll talk about what she’s seen within the justice department and you’ll also take away some action items to help – things the average citizen can do to help restore the justice department and what you can do if you find someone in the crosshairs or you are in the crosshairs of the justice department.”

Current guidelines dictate a capacity of 250 people. The room typically holds more than 500.

“There will be plenty of room and space for people,” Clayton said. “We’re doing a nice either roast beef or salmon dinner – their choice. Sidney has been very generous with her time. Before the event they can get books signed, there’s a meet-and-greet. When they order tickets on Eventbrite they can reserve a book if they’d like.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m hoping we fill up the venue and just have a nice evening. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to just go out and relax and hear someone really good.”
