The Iowa Standard is endorsing Justin Wasson for Iowa Senate District 42. Wasson has been vocal in support of parents and parental rights in education while stuff hits the fan in the Linn-Mar District with regards to gender identity and pronouns.

More than that, Wasson’s opponent (current State Rep. Charlie McClintock) is supported by the labor union, a rare “feat” for a Republican.

McClintock has also commented about how Iowa is underfunding schools. But schools are undercutting Iowans with their indoctrination. And we’ve seen plenty of examples from small-town schools to big-city schools.

The system is set up against parents and is actively working against parents, plain and simple. Wasson gets that and is committed to give parents a much stronger voice in the education of their children.

We need more people like that in Des Moines, not less.

And that is a clear distinction between Wasson and McClintock.

In addition to our support, Republican State Rep. Mark Cisneros has announced his support for Wasson. We know Cisneros to be a trustworthy conservative that will not just toe the party line.

Married with a young family, Wasson has a vested interest in Iowa. He gets it.

Let’s give him support tomorrow, June 7, in the Republican primary election.
