House File 2049, a bill filed by Rep. Sandy Salmon, requires an absentee voter who returns a completed absentee ballot by mail or to a drop box to include a photocopy of a voter identification document that would satisfy the requirements for a voter voting in person on Election Day.
Members of the absentee ballot and special voters precinct board are also required to verify the validity of the identification in the same manner as a precinct election official verifying the identity of a voter voting in person prior to counting a ballot.
