***Rumors are swirling in Iowa about polling location closures and changes. We’ve contacted the county auditors in Iowa to find out what is actually happening in their county.***

Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr said her county is ready for the election.

Six polling places will be open this year, normally they have eight. The auditor’s office sent notices to voters in early October to alert them to polling places.

As for the polling locations that did change, she said they changed for various reasons — but mainly COVID issues.

“Around 60 poll workers have declined to work,” she said.

Despite the number of poll workers who declined work, she said the county has the necessary number of workers to pull off the election.

Voters can find their polling place at this website.

Iowans can sign up to be poll workers here.
